Color Radar

Good colours for an Oakley Radar?

I am thinking about buying a custom Oakley Radar off of the Oakley site. I was wondering what frame, lens, icon, and ear sock colours would look good together. I will probably get the pitch lens shape as well.

The Path is easily the most common Radar. Outside of that, the Pitch is largely tilted towards baseball and the Range for shooting. Though you get more coverage with the Pitch or Range, they're too big for most people's faces and can present issues with hitting cheeks, etc. I'd make sure to try the different shapes on if at all possible.

As far as colors go, I'd suggest trying to look them up online via a Google image search or something comparable. Things in person are often different from the Oakley "drawings" where you customize.

A lot depends on how flashy you want to be, or if you have favorite colors and the like. The materials used can also vary a bit with different color offerings.

Though probably the most common, I actually think the jet black is a good standard frame color. I'd also most consider the metallic red and blue, and the dark metallic team red and metallic team navy blue. The team colors of orange and yellow might be good choices for something flashy. You may or may not like the straight stem, which appears to be the only way they're offered right now. I'd mainly stay clear of the polished aluminum and white chrome which are both known for peeling. And I find things like the brown smoke and crystal black usually feel weaker than the others for some reason.

For icons I'd personally look most at polished black, team red, and maybe polished brown, but that also somewhat assumes a jet black frame. If you'd do something "standard" like gunmetal or polished chrome with a jet black frame, you may just want to look for something like that that already exists -- there's not much point in doing custom unless you do a frame color combo that's not otherwise made at all since the lenses are interchageable later.

As far as ear socks, I've learned to stick with black under almost all circumstances. You can't get yellow as an accessory kit separately, however, so those might be something to consider, even if selling them right after purchase.

As far as lenses, I'd almost certainly do one of the polarized. All the others usually aren't too hard to find cheaper elsewhere later if you want. Black iridium polarized is a good, normal lens, but if you're considering it, you might just want to buy the version that already comes with it. I'm personally not fond of the tint you see with the tungsten iridium polarized. That mainly leaves the VR28 polarized and VR28 black iridium polarized which are both great lenses, but only one is an iridium (mirrored) lens. They're both great to look through, but not everyone likes the semi-lighter rose/sepia tint for people looking at you.

One other thing to consider is the model that's out there with the positive red iridium polarized lens -- you can't get that lens in a polarized version otherwise, but not everyone can pull off the frame that comes with it, too.

The photochromic offerings might also be something to look into.

Anyway, I'd mainly make sure there's not a pre-fab model out there you can build off of / change lenses on later. You can usually find them for a discount places like eBay, but you're usually paying full price or close to it for a custom build.

How do you change the reading light bulbs inside of a 1998 chrysler cirrus. There arent any screws so im lost

I agree, you might have to pull/pry it out. I drive a sebring, and it tells you to try the headlight assembly from the bumber to change the headlamps. what does the manual say? It should tell you how to do it.

Me and my baby's daddy are huge fans of Metallica, and want to raise our son as a fan too. He loves listening to their Black album while we take road trips and of course we want the nursery to be themed around the song, "Until it sleeps." Where can we find Metallica nursery items? we still need a crib bumper, receiving blankets, and wall decals that are Metallica themed. Target, Walmart, Kmart and Babies R Us were no help. Any ideas?

Eh, I don't think you'll be finding any baby stuff w/ Metallica on it. I'm sure you can get your hands on some fabrics or whatnot that you can make curtains or bed sheets out of that have their logo or stuff on them.

Is there such a thing as motorcycle helmet stripe decals?

I have a Schoei TZ-R bright orange helmet. I think it would look cool if I had two black stripes going down the center of it, from front to back, kinda like racing stripes. Maybe about an inch wide each.

Can anyone think of a good way of doing that? Would car pinstriping work? Would it be able to handle the curve of the helmet? Would it stay on? Can I find pinstriping that thick?
