Spot Landing
Physics: Angles at which two balls are thrown that land in the same spot.?
A baseball is thrown with an initial velocity of magnitude v at an angle of 27 degrees with respect to the horizontal (x) direction. At the same time, a second ball is thrown with the same initial speed at a different angle (theta) with respect to x. If the two balls land at the same spot, find theta.
In the absence of air resistance the situation is symmetrical about the 45 degree line. So the angle you want is as far "above" 45 degrees as 27 degrees is below. So 63 degrees is the angle you want.
The horizontal range of any projectile is given by
R = 2 . V^2 . sin(ø) . cos(ø) / g
V and g are constant for the two launch angles so all you have to do is show that sin(27).cos(27) = sin (63) . cos(63)
They are equal to each - they have to be, its no surprise.
To prove the general case the the same range results from any pair of what I think are called complimentary angles, is too hard to write out in this format ( and maybe too hard for me.period.) It involves setting up a quadratic equation and showing that it has two different roots.
I would just go with the symmetry argument.

Oil Press Temp
i have a 1990 ford f 250 with 150000 miles on it it losses oil pressure when reaching temp?
I have changed oil and filters used heavier weight oil changed oil pump had bearing checked and was told they were worn engine sounds great when cold but knocks when warm and oil pressure drops. I get oil pressure when driving if I leave the truck in gear being it's a manual and let off the gas but when gas pedal is pressed oil pressure drops again, also when shifting I have oil pressure untell i press in the clutch and nothing and then it builds again untell I have to shift again, all this when engine is warm. When cold sounds and runs beautifully, reads normal oil pressure can I fix it with a rebuilt and any idea what that might cost? Buying a rebuilt engine or getting the engine i have now rebuilt?
When you had the bearings checked did they remove the oil pan?
If so why didn't they replace the main and rod bearings and also the oil pump(hi volume) at that time . that would have tightened the bottom end up a bit and boosted the oil flow.
The oil pump could be failing and needs replacing.
on one of our stock cars the block was porous and lost oil pressure when warm . the fix was an epoxy coating in the block . A better /cheaper fix is a new block
Yours sounds like a thrust bearing or oil pump is the problem.
The thrust surface on the crankshaft could be worn excessively the fix for that is a new crankshaft.

My WD external hardrive isnt working .... Help!!?
ok so i have a WD 250 GB external hardrive...im a photographer and it has thousands of my photos on it...so its important..its been working fine for about 2 months, everytime before i disconnect i go through the remove hardware safely etc but i just plugged it in today and it makes a little bing noise that it usually makes when it recognizes it but theres no icon coming up in My computer....im kinda really worried at the mo, plz help!! x
