Identification Plate

Antique China/Dishes Identification?

I am trying to identify a large collection of presumably antique china that was in my house when I bought it.

There are about 100 pieces, which includes serving platters, cups and saucers, dinner and dessert plates, bowls, cream and sugar pitchers, ect, all unmarked (no stamp or sign anywhere).

These are all white with a wide robin's egg blue band around the edges (about 1 3/4 inches wide), and metalic silver trim. It is obvious by the design that these pieces are very old, though I have not found a single scratch, chip or other defect with any of them.

Any knowledgeable info on age, maker, ect would be apprieciated!

You can take a sample of your china around to various antique stores and see if anyone there can help you identify it. I have a few cups and saucers that I got from my Step-grandmother and they were not labeled either so I took a set to the largest antique dealer in my town and she knew exactly what it was. So, it is definitely worth a try.

Local Vehicle owner identification?

This question is not about license plates or VINs (vehicle identification numbers), but is asking about how to locate an owner by description of a vehicle. I was wandering if there is a place on the internet that can find local vehicle owners based on their car's description, like by describing a car in an area code and narrowing it down vehicle by vehicle until you find the one you think it is and it lists the owner. I want to do this because a suspicious looking truck has stopped in front of my house and just drove off multiple times. Is there a place on the web where l can do what i described?

Without any other information than the vehicle description, your chances of determing the identity of the owner fall into the range of very slim to none at all. State DMVs just don't make that sort of information available.

If this situation is really bothering you, you should consider reporting your suspicions to the local police department. While they may not do anything immediately, at least you will have alerted them to your concerns.

also, i heard those jeeps sometimes have rear main seal leaking oil. where is this seal located? can i see it visually if it is leaking?

I like to push in both the break and clutch, then release the clutch, see if the car dies, it should, or the clutch slips which means it is close to worn out. This does do quite a bit of wear to the clutch. The rear main seal is at the back of the oil pan. Get it nice and hot, then park it over some clean pavement, wait a while then look under it to check for leaks.

How do i found out what size brake pads go on my 2000 Jeep grand Cherokee Laredo?

I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo that i want to buy front brake pads for. There are two different sizes for the 6cyl version, the 6.2'' and the 7.6''. How do i find out witch size fits mine? I dont have the original manual with the jeep either.

Go to Autozone.com and look up you vehicle and look at the pictures. You have either Akebono or ATE. Your vin may not tell you as the dealers were upgrading the ATE to Akebonos after many problems with the ATE, or smaller caliper.

Any leaking could negate exhaust system efficiency. (This is also why most imports with noisy exhaust systems may actually suffer from a decrease in power; they've inadvertently shifted the resonant point in the exhaust system, which hurts more than it helps. We've all seen and heard the slammed civics that sound like weed eaters with a chrome tail pipe)

If it's just a leak, you may be able to get a good exhaust shop to plug it with a weld.

how does a power inverter work in my vehicle?

I want to install a power inverter in my car i know it hooks up directly to my battery. Here are my questions, 1) how many amps will it draw if im using 1500 watts, about 15 minutes per hour of drive time? 2) will i need to upgrade my alternator? 3) will the life of my battery be shortened? 4)should the car be running or just on the on position for the first 15 minutes prior to starting? I run one in my Motor Home with two deep cycle batteries. It will give about an hour and a half running a TV, satellite receiver and sound system. Those batteries have a lot more capacity than your car battery. Run it for 15 minutes without the engine running, with any appreciable load, and you may just have to walk home. At full load it'll draw 15 amps or better from your battery.

Is a fuel induction service needed?

I just got back from the mechanic and they told me my Long Term Fuel Trim - Bank 1 is at -9.38%. They recommended I get a Fuel Induction Service to help fix the problem.

What is the Long Term Fuel Trim, what is a Fuel Induction Service and how will it help?

What is fuel trim? Fuel trim is a window that allows you to see what the computer is doing to control fuel delivery and determine how the PCM's adaptive strategy is operating.

Why was fuel trim created? In order for vehicle manufacturers to comply with EPA emissions regulations, catalytic converters were added to reduce tailpipe emissions. Catalytic converters need a stoichiometric air/fuel ratio of approximately 14.7:1 to obtain the greatest emissions reductions. Vehicle engineers designed closed-loop engine control systems to maintain that ratio, adjusting injector pulse width based on information from die oxygen sensor and other inputs. Short-term fuel trim (STFT) and long-term fuel trim (LTFT) are expressed as a percentage, and the ideal range should be within ±5%.

Positive fuel trim percentages indicate that the powertrain control module (PCM) is attempting to richen the fuel mixture, to compensate for a perceived lean condition. Negative fuel trim percentages indicate the PCM is attempting to lean out the fuel mixture, to compensate for a perceived rich condition. STFT and LTFT percentages are the adjustments made by the PCM to maintain the 14.7:1 ratio.

So if you have a 9.38:1 ratio on Bank 1, every plug on that bank is affected so, yes, you need the work done.

Is a fuel injection service necessary?

I took my 2004 Honda Pilot (20,000 miles) in for a check up today because it seems to have lost some of the fuel efficiency. They checked it out, and recommended a "fuel injection service" to clean the fuel injectors. Would a car with so few miles really need this service already? Also, isn't this something that could be taken care of with a gasoline additive?
