Receiver Remote Head

Something I can use as an RF modulator?

So I play xbox on a standard definition tv that has the red white and yellow inputs built in. Right now I cant use that one but I have a smaller one that I used to use with an rf modulator, which I couldn't find after looking for almost an hour.

So i was just wondering if I could use my satelite tv reciever to do what the rf does. On the back of the receiver it has 2 sets of red white yellow which i believe correspond with the AV1 and AV2 things on the remote. Now the AVs arent programmed on the remote and I was just wondering if this would even work before I spent time figuring out the programming of the remote.

My instinct is that it wont work because it did only give me option to set the av portions to control only DVD, Audio equipment, VCR, Receiver, and TV, so im guessing its....umm, i dunno im a little over my head, just taking a shot in the dark with this question.

On a SAT receiver AV is going to be Out or pass through only. On a VCR there will be AV IN and AV OUT. So (in theory) putting your Xbox into the AV IN on the VCR should produce an output on the VCR UHF socket which your TV will pick up on the normal VCR output UHF channel.

I have an old AC adapter for a wireless router that outputs 12V - 1A. Can I cut the wire, attach alligator clips to each end, and use this to test LED bulbs that are made for car applications? ie, dome lights, blinkers, etc.

You can use it for anything that operates os 12 Volts DC and draws 1 Amp or less current.

How to test PS2 Network Adapter if you don't have the cd?

I recently got a used older PS2 at a garage sale and it included a network adapter on it, however it didn't come with any utility disc or a disc to set it up. I want to get some games to play for it online, however I don't want to buy those games and find out the network adapter doesn't work. How can I see if the adapter itself works if I don't have a game for it? Thanks!

The way I do it is through the game itself. It usually gives you the option of going to your connection settings when you try to go online and can't connect. You can try to rent an online PS2 game and go from there.

Are there grants available for first time home buyers in Michigan?

I found a perfect home for me and it is a little above my price range( because of the taxes). I would be living there alone and have never owned a home before. I am not on the poor end of the spectrum. i fall in the middle class range. Are there any grants that I can apply for to help me afford this house?

I doubt you will find a grant for a couple reasons--your income and the location of the house.

Grants for first-time buyers are state-sponsored typically, and are targeted for low-income buyers who agree to participate in a training program. AND these grants target specific neighborhoods, as part of a redevelopment effort. I doubt your perfect home is in one of these neighborhoods. Often these grants come with specific loans and requirements to stay in that house for a certain period of time.

You won't know until you search Google. Michigan + "first-time buyer", or Michigan + "housing assistance".

i need to write an article.

A big consideration in calculating a fare is for an airline to determine "seat-mile cost..." In other words, how much does it cost to operate an airliner for a given flight and then dividing the total cost by the number of seats in the airplane.

The airline has to pay the mortgage or lease on the airplane, fuel, insurance, scheduled and unplanned maintenance, crew salaries and benefits, ground handling expenses, etc.

Today fares from the United States to Europe, for example, can be lower than they were in the 1950's...even WITHOUT adjusting for inflation.

My Grandparents once flew to Europe in the 1960's and each paid about $300.00 one-way.

I flew to Europe not long ago for $189.00 one-way.

Generally speaking, with ever improving technology, the more seats you can put into an airplane, the lower you can charge each passenger to pay his "share" of those expenses.

An airliner makes money for an airline ONLY when it's in the air...an aircraft sitting at a gate or in a hangar is not generating any revenue. Also, an airliner is most fuel efficient at cruise altitude...so if you can provide a long 8 hour flight, the seat-cost per mile will be much lower than for a flight in the same type of aircraft that flies say, a 45 minute flight. (Most fuel is used during take-off and climb...when the aircraft is heaviest.)

So, the advent of wide-body aircraft with fuel efficient engines drastically reduced the average seat-cost per mile in most instances. In some cases, a single wide-body flight could replace two flights in a smaller old-technology airliner.

The end result was that airlines were able to lower fares, thus attracting passengers who had previously been unable or unwilling to pay the higher fares.

my dad says that the job industry in aviation is dead. how can i convince him that i want to be a jet mechanic?

-pay is good
-they are always hiring (right?)
-end up working for Boeing

What are some benefits?

I just got my A&P (the certification you need to work on airplanes) and I got hired just a few months after getting it. All my buddies that graduated the A&P program that I went to has been able to find work. The money isn't great right out of it but as in any career you have to earn your way up.

Next, I love what I do. I love aviation. I'm a pilot and an A&P. What money can't buy I have. An awesome job doing what I love every day.

Get your A&P. There is always room in aviation for ambitouse guys who love planes.
